Proponents of legal marijuana in California, like Oaksterdam University founder Richard Lee, say that, among other benefits, legalization would cut the financial burden placed on taxpayers by a prison system crowded with inmates convicted of petty drug crimes. The California Correctional Peace Officers' Association, however, sees things a little differently.
