Sour Milk – Ep #22

Think you had a bad year in 2009? Try talking to
a dairy farmer. Between milk prices crashing and fuel costs
soaring, many small dairy farms have felt the squeeze, despite
government attempts to subsidize and to guarantee bank loans.
One such operation is the organic Kansas-based Iwig Family
Dairy, which was looking at bankruptcy – until the community
pulled together to help them into 2010. Too bad banks aren’t
always such good neighbors.
